# Taylor Swift's next song is called Patient Zero.

Taylor Swift announced a new single, Patient Zero, for September 25. A dark visual reset and changed lettering have fans parsing the clues, but she has not announced it as a new album.

Rolling Stone reported the announcement on September 22. Swift's site showed three CD single covers in black, while her social posts and profile switched away from the bright look associated with The Life of a Showgirl. Some letters in earlier material also changed from O to zero.

That is why one song announcement is generating so many theories. The confirmed part is the title and release date; whether this is a bonus track or the start of another project is still an open question.

**Okay but settle this:** Are you reading the zeroes as a new era or just one single? Make the case for your theory.
