# Wonka's chocolate factory is a reality competition now.

Netflix released Wonka's The Golden Ticket on September 23. Twelve ticket holders enter a chocolate-factory competition with a partner, facing games and temptations before one contestant wins.

Netflix's September 23 guide says the show takes its setup from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and nods to the 1971 film. It turns the familiar question of who gets into the factory into a series of tests inside it. The two-part finale is set for September 30.

The show's strange detail is a recreated Gene Wilder voice for Wonka, which Netflix says was used with his estate's consent. You do not need to know the contestants to get the premise: the golden ticket was only the invitation.

**Okay but settle this:** Would you make it through a Wonka-style factory challenge, or break the first rule for candy?
